Content
This course provides practical strategies for dealing constructively with the opportunities and challenges of cultural diversity. It spans from the self to the other, from the foreign to the familiar, and is based on the premise that the cultural diversity requires a diversity of observation, communication and intervention skills:

• Exploring the dynamic impact of one’s own identity
• Sharpening the view of foreign, diverse cultural identities and their dynamics
• Developing effective intercultural communication
• Aspects of emigration and immigration and how they influence one’s own leadership behaviour
• Interculturally competent leadership through tact, participation and decisiveness.

Learning Objectives
Participants will

• understand how culture influences their own feelings, thoughts and actions
• learn to interpret the hidden motives of foreign cultures
• recognise their existing, even unconscious, intercultural skills
• learn how they can utilise the potential in cultural differences and similarities
• develop their individual ways of working effectively in culturally diverse environments.
